Winter Encampment 2017

December 27th, 2017 to

January 1st, 2018 

Bluegrass Armory in Lexington, KY

Check In is between 1000-1200 on the 27th
Graduation at 1300 on 1st.
Applications are open immediately for Kentucky Wing members and after November 1st open to the rest of the Great Lakes Region.

In addition to the nationally mandated curriculum, the Basic Encampment offers such activities as powered orientation flights.

Cadets must achieve the Curry Achievement prior to attending the basic encampment. This must be recorded in e-Services prior to arrival at Encampment. This is NOT a requirement to apply.

ADVANCED TRAINING FLIGHT (ATF)

There will be a Basic Encampment and 4 Advanced Training Flights (ATF). Each ATF will have a specific STEM focus and outlined as follows:
E” Flight, Model Rocketry
F” Flight, Flight Simulator
G” Flight. Robotics
H” Flight, Remote Controlled Aircraft
On the CAPF-31, ensure you mark your preference (example ATF-E, H, F, G, from highest priority down)
Each ATF will travel to the Air Force Museum at WPAFB, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, the Kentucky Military History Museum and a planetarium!

OPTIONAL COURSES

Optional courses in the evenings include:
Astronomy
Color Guard
Military Music Flight
(must bring your own brass or woodwind instrument, percussion will be provided)

COST

Cost will be $100.00 per cadet attending. There is no cost for Senior Members this year. Payment will only be received via unit funds transfer. Cadet provide a check or money order to their unit and the unit commander deposits to the wing. All payments are due no latter than December 1st.

Cadet Encampment Assistance Program (CEAP)

CEAP applications open November 1, 2017 for winter encampments.  Applications close 20-30 days before the start of encampment.  Assistance is prioritized by need, first-timer status and date of application, so don’t wait to apply!

The United States Air Force is now providing financial assistance to cadets attending their first encampment. Members in need of this assistance must apply for CEAP online through e-Services (http://www.capnhq.gov). If approved for CEAP, members must still register for encampment using the CAPF 31 and other directions outlined in this packet. You will find information about the Cadet Encampment Assistance Program in eServices:
